Hi, guten tag from an American expat in Germany. This is a great course; I have the book also which I refer to frequently. It's very helpful with specifics for a first timer like me. I'm following the instructions carefully like a recipe book. So far my girls look great. Dark green leaves, leaf tips look perfect and flowers are coming out everywhere. I estimate a harvest in early March.
My question is about confidence in my Apera PH20 pH meter. My pH meter seems inconsistent with measurments of the same sample. I did the 2 point calibration routine with the 7.0 then 4.0 buffer solution. My tap water is about 8.0. My bottled water is 8.9, and distilled from the store comes in around 8 (shouldn't it be 7?). Then my runnoff samples seem to vary by several tenths but steadilly increasing over the course of two weeks. The early samples were around 6.4. Now it's 7.8. What worries me is that the exact same sample can measure +/- .4.
I have similar confidence issues with the PPM meter which actually measures EC. Its an HM Digital EC3. For food, I'm using CANNA Terra Flores at the recommended 5ml/l which results in about a 250 PPM reading and still high 7s on pH. It's consistent but I want to be sure before I crank up the ppm for flowering.
Anyway, thanks for the well written book, I appreciate the clear English and specifics and sparing me the history lessons (important but best for smoking conversations).
